We at Garland Christian Academy believe that students are best educated by adhering to the principles of theistic perennialism. Theistic perennialism holds that students should discover, examine, and internalize the permanent truths of human existence (i.e., the truths of God and God’s creation) through the study of scripture and the classic works in the European tradition. Rather than relying on “facts,” which often shift with new discovery, theistic perennialism aims to school pupils in the skills and principles of the primary disciplines in order to sharpen and expand their language and logic skills. To that end, GCA emphasizes mastery of the basic subjects (English, foreign languages, history, mathematics, natural science, philosophy, and the fine arts), which are the essence of a classical education. Our teachers make use of, but are not restricted to, the A Beka and Bob Jones curricula.
