Elementary Dress Code

Kindergarten - Fifth Grade
  • Long pants, shorts and Oxford shirts may be purchased from any store but must be similar in style, color and material to the Mills clothing. Pants and shorts are cotton twill; no cargo or low waist.
  • Pants and shorts with belt loops require a belt.
  • Shirts and blouses must be tucked in (exception - girl's white stretch camp blouse)
  • Shorts, skirts and jumpers are to be worn no shorter than the top of the knee.
  • Khaki/tan pants, skirt or shorts and a green polo shirt or sweatshirt are needed for field trips.
  • Shoes may be sturdy play shoes such as tennis shoes.

Hair & Jewelry

  • Students should avoid wearing jewelry to school.
  • Girls' hair should be out of their eyes.
  • Boys' hair should be off the collar, eyes and ears.

Secondary Dress Code

sixth - twelfth Grade
  1. Skirts must be purchased through Mills, and the polo shirts are ordered through the Academy.
  2. Skirt lengths must not be higher than the bend of the knee, in the back as well as in the front.
  3. Girls may wear slacks on any day.
  4. All shirts must be tucked in.
  5. Belts must be worn with pants.
  6. Fridays are considered GCA spirit apparel days; therefore, students may wear any GCA-issued apparel. Loose-fitting GCA T-shirts are allowed.
  7. Outerwear and sweatshirts worn in the classroom must be authorized GCA apparel. All others should be kept in the students' lockers during the school day and are not to be worn in the hallways or in the classrooms. Hooded sweatshirts are only allowed in the gym or outside the building.
  8. All dress requirements are in effect as long as the student is on campus.
