Elementary School Art introduces students to colors and the basic artistic media. The course teaches basic artistic techniques necessary to produce work in those media. Students are expected to participate and show improvement in both their understanding of art and their execution of various projects. Elementary art includes three to five art shows per year as well as the opportunity to enter numerous competitions.
Middle School Art builds upon the foundational knowledge of art gained in elementary school, by expanding its focus to include graphic design, sculpture, and print making. The course also introduces students to intermediate techniques for familiar media. Beyond engaging the new media and learning new techniques, students and are expected to demonstrate an age-appropriate skill level and understanding of art. Middle School art includes three to five art shows per year as well as the opportunity to enter numerous competitions.
High School Art, beyond its in-depth practice with familiar media, introduces students to photography and advanced techniques for all media. Building a varied portfolio, Students are expected to demonstrate mastery of intermediate and advanced techniques as they forge an individual style and vision. High School art includes three to five art shows per year as well as the opportunity to enter numerous competitions.
